Curriculum
Goals and Objectives
Children Today has adopted The Creative Curriculum for Toddlers and Preschool. Teachers conduct individual observations and assessments of children to determine curriculum goals and objectives and meet weekly to develop lesson plans that address each child's goal. Daily activities are child-driven; teachers introduce activities and carefully observe children in order to identify opportunities to naturally extend their learning.
Using The Creative Curriculum model, teachers will reassess children every trimester to guage their development and meet with each child's parent to discuss the assessment and establish new goals or refine existing goals. Overarching curriculum goals are divided into two groups, as follows:

Children with Disabilities or Other Special Needs
Our Child and Family Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), conducts developmental assessments for each child and makes referrals to the appropriate organization when developmental delays or concerns are identified. She works with teachers to ensure that each child's Individual Plan is geared toward meaningful participation in the program.
