Children Today holds a contract with CDE's Early Education Division to provide high-quality preschool services to children three and up. California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Children Today holds a contract with CDSS' Child Care and Development Division to provide child care services to children under three. We are also licensed by CDSS' Community Care Licensing Division to serve infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. |
Long Beach Unified School District Head Start
Children Today is a Child Care Partner (CCP) agency with LBUSD's Head Start. Through this collaboration, we can offer extended resources and supports offered by LBUSD to the families we serve. Quality Start Los Angeles Children Today is a member of Quality Start Los Angeles, a county-wide Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) designed to ensure there are high quality early learning programs accessible to all families. |
Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS)
Children Today accepts referrals from DCFS to provide child care and preschool services to children who are involved in the child welfare system, either as part of a family preservation plan or for those who are in foster care. ChildNet Children Today accepts referrals from ChildNet's Foster Family Network, which helps place children with quality foster homes. ChildNet also provides therapeutic support to clients we share. For The Child Children Today refers families to For the Child, who provides onsite mental health services for young children needing behavioral and/or emotional support. |
The Guidance Center
Children Today refers families to the Guidance Center, who provides specialized treatment for young children who have experienced trauma. Harbor Regional Center Children Today refers families to Harbor Regional Center, who provides assessment, consultation, and intervention services for young children who may have a diagnosed disability or delay. TCC Family Health Children Today refers families to TCC Family Health, who provides accessible healthcare for all children, particularly for those from low-income households who are in need of a medical home. |
Long Beach Multi-Service Center
Children accepts referrals from the Long Beach Multi-Service Center (MSC), the access center for homeless services in Long Beach. Administered by the Department of Health & Human Services, the MSC provides outreach, intake and assessment services, case management and referrals to shelters and other social service programs. Children Today also refers families who are in need of emergency shelter and permanent housing to the MSC. New Life Beginnings Children Today accepts referrals from New Life Beginnings, a shelter for new mothers and pregnant women. We also refer new mothers in need of emergency housing to New Life Beginnings. |
1736 Family Crisis Center
Children Today accepts referrals from 1736 Family Crisis Center for families with young children who are in shelter due to incidents of domestic violence. We also refer families who are fleeing domestic violence to 1736 Family Crisis Center. The Long Beach Continuum of Care (CoC) Children Today collaborates with other members of the CoC to ensure families in need have access to emergency and social services, medical and mental health services, and other resources to help them obtain stability and success. |
